Overview
Participants in these programs receive the opportunity to experience an exciting academic program at a highly regarded UK University; explore the culture, heritage and history of the UK; and develop their academic ability by improving presentation, research and communication skills.
Each university which offers a summer session has a particular academic focus, and most programs change each year. The competition is highly selective. Each applicant should consult the programs being offered for the current year and select the one for which he has the greatest interest and which is the best fit for him.

Eligibility Requirements
Must be a U.S. citizen who posses a valid U.S. passport by the commencement date of the program.
Applicants MUST have at least two years of undergraduate academic study remaining; thus, typically only freshmen and sophomores may apply.
Minimum GPA of 3.7
Process
Applicants should ensure that a proper fit exists between his proposed program of study and his major and interests.
Applicants must have a GP of 3.7 or higher.
The UK Summer Institutes seek candidates with evidence of leadership qualities; initiative, academic ability, character, adaptability and ambassadorial qualities; as well as an interest in the UK and its culture.
Deadline date varies by program but will be in mid- or late-February.
